Tigray Resources is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on discovery by advancing early stage mineral projects in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. The Company's Harvest project is located 600 kilometres north of the capital city of Addis Ababa in the well-endowed Arabian-Nubian Shield (ANS) that stretches from Saudi Arabia to southern Ethiopia and hosts a number of significant volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) resources including Bisha and Emba Derho. These resources consist of copper-gold-silver-zinc-rich VMS mineralization that is subject to supergene enrichment of gold and copper in the weathering profile. Significant greenstone-related gold deposits are also present in the ANS, including the > 1Moz Koka-Zara gold deposit north of Bisha and the Lega Dembi gold mine in Southern Ethiopia. Proven potential exists on Tigray's licences for similar discoveries.
Tigray is well positioned to deliver on its objective of discovery, having completed Phase 1 and 2 of its exploration programs, including 17,600 metres of diamond drilling by May 2012. With numerous prospects in the exploration pipeline, it is anticipated that multiple prospects will be advanced and drilled in the coming year.
Tigray was formed in 2011 and trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol TIG. The Company's Board, management, and technical teams have a strong record of success in mineral exploration and development of mineral properties and are dedicated to an aggressive and dynamic exploration program. The focus for discovery remains on high-value gold and copper deposits. The Company believes there are many deposits to be discovered, through the application of new technologies, conventional exploration practices and carefully planned and executed well-funded exploration programs.
